Mining Truck Air Conditioner

Mining truck air conditioners are heavy-duty cabin temperature control systems specially designed for the extreme working conditions in open-pit and underground mines. They are built to cope with high temperatures, severe vibration, heavy dust and corrosion, ensuring drivers’ safety and comfort. Compatible with 12V/24V DC vehicle power supply, they generally feature a cooling capacity of 5–10kW, much higher than ordinary truck air conditioners.

1. Core Features

Extreme Environmental Resistance

Wide temperature adaptability: Stable operation at temperatures ranging from -60℃ to +50℃, suitable for extremely cold and scorching mining areas.
Dustproof and waterproof: IP68 protection grade. Fully sealed compressors and three-layer filters effectively block dust and withstand high-pressure water washing.
Vibration and corrosion resistance: Stainless steel housing and rubber vibration isolators can resist 5G vibration, with excellent anti-rust and anti-salt spray performance.

High Cooling Performance

Most mainstream models deliver a cooling capacity of 7–9.3kW (23,880–31,733 BTU/h), which works efficiently even under ambient temperatures up to 50℃. Typical models include Cat 793 (9.3kW), SIGMA TCF7BX2 (7kW) and Bergstrom (2.1kW/24V).

Power Supply & Control System

Power supply: 12V/24V DC directly connected to the vehicle battery. The unit can run independently for 2 to 4 hours after the engine is turned off.
Control functions: Automatic constant temperature, multi-speed fan, fresh air pressurization to prevent dust ingress, defrosting and dehumidification.

Air Quality & Safety

High-efficiency filters combined with activated carbon filters remove dust, diesel exhaust, methane and other harmful gases.
Explosion-proof models equipped with explosion-proof motors and circuits comply with safety standards for underground coal mines.

2. Main Types

Rooftop Mounted Type

The most widely used style, installed on the top of the cab without occupying interior space. It delivers downward air supply for even temperature distribution.

Representative products: Bergstrom Integral Power II, SIGMA TCF8BX6, Komatsu MineAir MAS 1500.

Split Type

Consists of an indoor unit inside the cab and a condenser mounted on the vehicle frame or rear part. It is ideal for compact cabs, featuring easy maintenance and better heat dissipation as the condenser is kept away from heat sources.

Parking Air Conditioner

Operates independently of the engine and powered by the vehicle battery. It can keep cooling for 2 to 4 hours after engine shutdown to save fuel and reduce emissions. Available in 12V/24V versions with IP68 rating and inverter technology that cuts power consumption by 35%.
